Pakistan Cricket Board enter partnership with Faysal Bank

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has agreed a partnership with Faysal Bank Limited.

As part of the three-year sponsorship deal, the bank will support and promote the development of Pakistani cricket. To commemorate the deal, Faysal Bank will organise the National Twenty20 Cup from October 10th at the Gadaffi stadium in Lahore.
Faysal Bank started operations in Pakistan in 1987 and is owned by Ithmaar Bank, an Investment bank based in Bahrain. Faysal Bank is based Karachi.

BNP Paribas Extends Davis Cup, Fed Cup Sponsorship For Five Years

The International Tennis Federation announced today that BNP Paribas has agreed to continue its sponsorship of Davis Cup by BNP Paribas and Fed Cup by BNP Paribas for an additional five-year period, commencing in 2012 through 2016. The agreement also includes sponsorship of Junior Davis Cup by BNP Paribas, Junior Fed Cup by BNP Paribas, ITF wheelchair tennis activities, and the biennial Worldwide Coaches Conference and regional coaches workshops

DHL is the official Logistics Partner for the 2011 Rugby World Cup

Under the deal DHL will be responsible for ticket distribution as well as the Rugby World Cup Limited and International Rugby Board's express shipments and international and domestic freight movements. This includes the delivery of competing teams' equipment.

Hundreds of movements will take place during the Tournament with an expected two to six tonnes of equipment per move. It is expected DHL trucks will drive a total of 30,000 kilometres over the course of the tournament.

Zapak Games got the distribute right for F1 2010 title in India

Codemasters an Zapak Games has announced a new generation of Formula One games which come to high definition consoles and PC for Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and PC Games For Windows. Zapak Games, the licensing and merchandising arm of Zapak Digital Entertainment, will distribute the title in India.

Formula One World Championship is the official game of the 2010 FIA , which will include all of the official teams, drivers and circuits. F1 2010 will feature the return of seven times Formula 1 Drivers’ World Champion Michael Schumacher, the introduction of several new teams, and the brand new Korean International Circuit that will host the 2010 Formula 1 Korean Grand Prix.

The launch will see F1 2010 become the first official Formula One game to appear for Xbox 360 and marks the return of Formula One to PC after an eight year absence. The arrival of the HD editions of Formula One follows Codemasters’ launch of F1 2009 for Wii and PSP.

F1 2010 will also feature an advanced damage model, a weather system and competitive multiplayer options. F1 2010 has been developed using the Ego Game Technology Platform, Codemasters’ proprietary tech that powered the critically acclaimed, million-plus selling Colin McRae: DiRT 2 and Race Driver: GRID. The award-winning technology has been further developed to accurately recreate the unique aerodynamics and handling of 200MPH+ Formula One cars.

UBS sign US$200 million Formula One partnership

Swiss financial services company UBS have signed an agreement to be a global partner of Formula One.

The company, whose previous major sports sponsorship was with the Alinghi America's Cup team, joins LG, Mumm and DHL as Formula One global partners.

O2 signed for NBA LONDON Games

O2 has become the first promotional partner of the National Basketball Association’s ‘NBA Games – London 2011’, the first-ever NBA regular season games to take place in Europe.

O2 will also partner the NBA’s Europe Live preseason games and as part of the deal O2 will run competitions for its customers to win tickets and exclusive NBA experiences to NBA matches.

Atwal becomes first Indian golfer to clinch a US PGA Tour title


Atwal became the first Indian and just the sixth Asian-born player to win on the PGA Tour when he secured a one-stroke victory at the Wyndham Championship on August 22, 2010.
Also he becomes first qualifier in 24 years to win PGA Tour event.

David Beckham : EA Sports' Brand ambassador

EA Sports has signed David Beckham as a brand ambassador for its new EA Sports Active 2 range, an innovative line of interactive fitness products that feature personalized, customizable workouts. He will act as the franchise spokesperson and will be featured in advertising and retail material across Europe and Australia. He will also provide an advisory role to the EA Sports Active team. 

EA Sports Active 2 focuses on improving muscular strength, endurance and flexibility, as well as improving cardio; it will combine a heart rate monitor and motion tracking data to deliver a fitness experience that achieves authentic, measurable results. EA Sports Active 2 will be available on Kinect for Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation3, Wii, iPhone and iPod touch in Europe and Australia from 19th November.

Tottenham Hotspur name Investec as second shirt sponsor

Tottenham Hotspur has signed a deal under which specialist bank and asset management firm Investec will become its second shirt sponsor.

Software infrastructure company Autonomy is the White Hart Lane club's shirt sponsor in the Premier League.

Now Investec will become shirt sponsor for Champions League and domestic cup competitions for the next two years.

PGTI signs strategic partnership with LG

The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), the official sanctioning body of professional golf in India , signed a key strategic partnership with LG. With this agreement, LG now comes on board the PGTI as the “Official Technology Partner”.

Lucozade Sport signs Chelsea deal

Lucozade Sport has signed up as Chelsea Football Club’s official sports nutrition partner ahead of the new season.
The brand, which is overseen by GlaxoSmithKline Nutritional Healthcare, has created the range alongside athletes and scientists. The company hopes that in addition to serious athletes, the range will grow the sports nutrition sector by attracting more women and appealing to novices.

Their deal with Chelsea will run for the next three seasons and Lucozade Sport scientists will also work with Chelsea’s backroom staff at the training ground in Cobham.

Lucozade Sport has strengthened its presence in elite football by agreeing two new partnerships with Premier League clubs Arsenal and Liverpool.

While politicians are fighting on the various issue of the Commonwealth Games , some of the country’s leading sportspersons, including Abhinav Bindra, Vijender Singh and Saina Nehwal, are all set to promote.

Taj Television India launches ‘Ten Cricket'

In an attempt to steal the money ZEE Networks decided to start a new channel TEN CRICKET from August 10 onwards. Rates of their channels cannot be hiked as per TRAI rules..An option open before them is to start a new channel and migrate certain contents to that channel.
The tri series in Srilanka will be first of series to be telecast on this channel.
In the next six months, Ten Cricket plans to telecast 8 Test Matches, 25 ODI’s & 5 T20’s. Ten Cricket will also telecast the important India-South Africa series comprising of 3 Test Matches, 5 One Day Internationals and 1 T20.

They broadcast rights of five cricket boards - Sri Lanka, South Africa, Pakistan, West Indies & Zimbabwe, bringing-in some of the best cricketing action from there.

AFF Suzuki Cup retains title sponsorship

ASEAN football received a further boost today as Japanese car giant Suzuki Motor Corporation renewed its title sponsorship of the AFF Suzuki Cup for 2010.

The AFF Suzuki Cup is Southeast Asia's biggest football event and ratings leader. This year's competition, featuring the region's top eight teams, will be co-hosted by Indonesia and Vietnam from December 1st to 29th. Suzuki has been a title-sponsor of the AFF Cup since 2008.

First women to present Formula 1

Miss McKenzie, the BBC’s track-side reporter, will take the main anchor role for the Japanese Grand Prix in mid-October. Jake Humphrey, the programme’s regular presenter, will be at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi. McKenzie, a former Sky Sports News presenter, joined the programme as a pit lane reporter last year and she was kissed by Jenson Button after he won the 2009 championship.

Dolce & Gabbana to lend a little Italian style to Chelsea

Dolce & Gabbana, the Italian designer label, has signed a three-year fashion partnership with Chelsea Football Club.

The style deal means we can expect to see the likes of John Terry, Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba, Nicolas Anelka and Ashley Cole out on the town in exclusive, dark blue, three-piece suits, with matching shirts and ties, designed by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.

Blue, the colour associated with Chelsea, is the design theme around which all the clothes and accessories revolve; it is also the colour for the exclusive Dolce & Gabbana logo on the clothes tags, which would normally be white.

Two outfits were created for the players: the dark blue suit, featuring the lion rampant reguardant crest embroidered on the pocket of the two-button jacket, and worn with a dark blue shirt, dark blue jacquard tie, black shoes and belt; and a pair of five-pocket, blue denim jeans with a button-down blue poplin ‘Martini’ shirt, and black calfskin trainers. A black wool/cashmere coat, with peak lapels completes the wardrobe. Players and staff will also be equipped with a blue leather trolley-case with Dolce & Gabbana metal tag.

Thai beer brand Singha has teamed up with Manchester United

Singha Corporation won the rights to distribute its drinks and merchandise at the English football club's famous ground in Manchester, while the beer brand is set to appear on pitch side billboards at every one of Manchester United's home matches for the next three years. Singha has also garnered the rights to use the Manchester United brand for commercial purposes worldwide, and additional sport-related ventures will be pursued.

Lacoste is paying a tribute to its heritage by launching a lovely online pop-up book dedicated to the brand’s founder, RenĂ© Lacoste. The online project features visual life-story of one of the most important figures in tennis history, starting from his early years.
The story is split into 6 chapters, and each of them tells (in English) about really notable events in the biography of the brand’s founder and the label itself as well.
