GodrejPowerPlay.com - consumer connect initiative

Godrej Group, in partnership with Dream11.com has launched their customer connect initiative GodrejPowerPlay.com where consumers can make their own fantasy cricket team while buying Godrej products to win prizes during the IPL season.

Each consumer who buys a Godrej product from any of the categories ranging from soaps to furniture will have to sms the ‘Godrej’ or log on to GodrejPowerPlay.com. This will help the participant get the name of a cricketer for every distinct product registered along with the value assigned to the cricketer, as well as creating a virtual bank balance. Depending on the real life performances of the players, their values increase, giving the participants a better chance to win. If a participant is not satisfied with a particular cricketer’s performance and wants to exchange him for another, he can do that on the basis of their values.

Winklevoss twins lose Facebook legal challenge, must abide by settlement, court rules

Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, who claimed Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg stole their idea, cannot get out of the settlement they reached with Facebook, the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Monday.

The Winklevoss twins, along with Divya Narendra, had agreed in 2008 to settle their claims, but had hoped a legal appeal would overturn the settlement, now worth in excess of $160 million because of the soaring value of the privately held company.

For the last six years, the Winklevosses have been brawling with Facebook over their contention that Zuckerberg ripped off his Harvard classmates to build the world's most popular social networking site.

A lower court had enforced the settlement.

Acer unveils new logo

The "fresh new logo" as Acer calls it is suppose to "distinguish" the company from their competitors. The company has also introduced a new typeface.

Ggreen is lighter and brighter and the more rounded new shape looks a lot safer for kids to play around with, should the occasion ever arise, Acer said.

“In Acer’s 35-year history, we have changed our corporate logo several times. Each time, it was to face new challenges in a different stage of our development. The last time was in 2001, when we spun-off our contract manufacturing business to focus on our brand business,” Acer said in a statement. In this new stage, Acer will focus on creating customer value and strengthening its brand.

Benetton to release the eightieth issue of its COLORS magazine to celebrate the 'Superheroes' of our day

The eightieth issue of COLORS celebrates the Superheroes of our day: men and women, weak or strong, rich or poor, all united by a common wish: the good of people and of the world. "Real" people who do extraordinary things for others, and who, in different ways, contribute to improving society.
In the cartoon world, characters like Batman, Wonder Woman or Superman fight the baddies using their superpowers, alter egos and exceptional abilities, but unfortunately only in our imagination. COLORS has met some real-life superheroes, who face the baddies of our everyday world with courage and self-sacrifice: the damage caused by the collapse of economies and by rampant pollution, the destruction caused by wars, the poverty of ignorance and atrocities.
