During the crisis the waitresses are prettier!

You think it absurd and meaningless relationship?

Then you'll be surprised because, according to the study published by New York Magazine this is totally true.

Hot Waitress Economic Index
As if it wasn’t unpleasant enough, this recession comes with an info glut, all this economic data purporting to answer a simple question: Are things getting better? The answer is rarely straightforward. The numbers aren’t just confusing. They seem to be measuring some other planet.

In New York, we have our own economic indicators, often based on the degree to which people are being thwarted by the lack of opportunity. An old standby is the Overeducated Cabbie Index. The Squeegee Man Apparition Index is another good one. There’s also the Speed at Which Contractors Return Calls Index: within 24 hours, you’re in a recession; if they call you without prompting, that’s a depression.

Google tries to prevent email embarrassment

After a bad day, you write a long, rambling complaint in email form to a friend -- then almost send the missive to another contact with a name similar to your buddy's.

On Wednesday, two popular features from Gmail Labs started rolling out to all users to help curb those missteps. Dubbed "Don't forget Bob" and "Got the wrong Bob?", the features aim to "prevent you from making two common mistakes: forgetting to include someone on an email, and sending a message to the wrong person with a similar name to the person you meant to email -- like emailing Bob (your boss) instead of Bob (your friend)," according to the official Gmail blog.

Carlsberg rolls out new brand identity worldwide

Beer major Carlsberg is in the process of repositioning its brand identity and has invested significant amount in this exercise. The initiative is developed around engaging today's young customer base with its tagline 'That calls for a Carlsberg'. Likewise the brand's visual identity will also be modernised; distribution channels will be widened and a completely new range of packaging is being rolled out across more than 140 markets.

Carlsberg, arguably one of the world's premium beer brands, is getting its most significant makeover since the beer's origination in 1847. The brand's logo now carries three elements: the Brewer's Star, the Hope Leaf, and the inclusion of "Copenhagen 1847," indicating where and when the beer was first brewed. These three elements are together for the first time. New packaging is currently being rolled out this year across all 140 markets.
