World Series Hockey
Nimbus Sport has entered into an agreement with the Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) to conceptualize, stage and market an annual hockey league called “World Series Hockey” (the League), with the first edition scheduled to be launched in late 2011.
"Hockey league will be the world’s largest hockey tournament which will be staged in the hockey tournament between November and February every year. We will produce to some high definition television and expect to deliver to over 70 countries worldwide. We believe it will become number one platform for players to showcase their abilities and also become number one commercial asset in the world of hockey,” Nimbus Communications Executive Chairman, Harish Thawani said.
An annual event, the League entails participation of upto 10 teams in its first year, using a city based model. The entire event will take place on ‘home and away’ basis culminating into multi header Playoffs. The first edition of World Series Hockey will take place between November / December 2011 to February 2012, feature upto 100 matches and upto 250 hockey players from India and around the world.

IFFCO acquired a stake in UCX
Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative (IFFCO) has acquired an equity stake in the newly set up Universal Commodity Exchange (UCX). UCX, the latest national level multi-commodity exchange to receive government approval, is a private initiative by Mumbai-based IT People (India) Ltd.
IFFCO is the largest producer and marketer of fertilisers in the country with a strong team of approximately 40,000 co-operative societies representing over 50 million farmers across the country supported by 158 farmers service centres (FSC).While UCX will be a full-fledged online multi-commodity exchange for trading in futures and derivatives markets in bullion, agricultural commodities, metals, energy etc.

UCX has also sold stakes to grain marketing company Hafed and Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilisers besides IFCI Venture Capital Fund. Netherlands-based Rabobank is also reported to have picked up a 5 per cent stake in the exchange.

Customers now have a chance to put their creative savvy to work at the PUMA Store, Linking Road, Mumbai and build their very own sneakers from an assortment of materials and fabrics to make a one-of-a kind pair of PUMA Creative Factory sneakers. Shariah 50 index
The Bombay Stock Exchange launched India's first Shariah-compliant index The `BSE Tasis Shariah 50' index, to promote financial inclusion among Muslims.
The index comprises 50 of the largest and most liquid Shariah-compliant stocks within the BSE 500. It has been launched by the BSE along with Taqwaa Advisory and Shariah Investment Solutions (Tasis), which has been involved with most of the Shariah-compliant financial products launched in the country.
Tata Asset Management Ltd earlier this year set up the Tata Indian Shariah Equity Fund to tap investments from the Gulf and the Middle East.
'Aalami Sahara' goes on air
Sahara India Pariwar launched its first exclusive Urdu news television channel Aalami Sahara aimed at reaching four million viewers in India and manifold in 53 other countries. The channel was launched amid a poetry recitation by Munnawar Rana from his book ‘Muhajir-nama’. Doordarshan and Eenadu already have Urdu channels.

Sahara News Network already publishes Roznama Rashtriya Sahara (an Urdu daily), Aalami Sahara (a weekly magazine) and Bazm-e-Sahara (a monthly tabloid). Roznama publishes 16 editions from 10 centers for its 3.15 million readers. There are 5,25,000 million readers of the Urdu weekly, while there are 500,000 for Bazm-e-Sahara (Urdu monthly). Earlier, Rozanama went online in October 2010. This was the first time when a complete Urdu newspaper and magazine were made available on Internet.
