Brand identity eludes Lokta Paper at home
Lokta paper — an internationally registered brand as Nepal Lokta — lacks its identity at home.
Nepal Lokta is a registered brand in the European Union for quality control since 2008, however, not yet been registered in the domestic market.
Lack of trade mark registration in the domestic market has become a major threat to Nepali handmade paper.
The association has started the process of registering the brand ‘Nepal Lokta’ as Nepali handmade paper is facing price competition with similar products from China, India and Thailand recently.
But it is one of the key products that has potential to alleviate poverty in the remote hilly districts. “More rural women from the remote districts are involved in the Lokta production,” the association said, adding that government could exploit the product for the benefit of the rural masses.
Trivia:-
Nepali handmade paper is a unique product made from Lokta. It is strong and durable and has inherent natural resistance to worms and insects. The raw paper is produced in more than 22 districts but the finished product of Lokta can be produced in Kathmandu Valley and Janakpur only.

Bytes:-
The bottle is made from bio-based raw materials, including switch grass, pine bark and corn husks. In the future, the company expects to broaden the renewable sources used to create the “green” bottle to include orange peels, potato peels, oat hulls and other agricultural byproducts from its foods business.
A milestone for Angry Birds
The platform game Rovio Mobile, Angry Birds, has become the most successful mobile game in history after reaching the 100 million downloads. The founder and CEO of Rovio, Peter Vesterbacka, believes that traditional consoles will eventually disappear to be replaced by another type of mobile entertainment and social.
Bytes:-
While most of its success can be pinned to strong gameplay and its fun theme, Rovio has worked harder to continue to introduce new Angry Birds content. Halloween and Christmas versions of the game were released and a special Rio version is being planned for March as is a St. Patricks Day edition.
Trivia:-
Angry Birds is a puzzle video game developed by Finland-based Rovio Mobile in which players use a slingshot to launch birds at pigs stationed on or within various structures, with the intent of destroying all the pigs on the play-field. Inspired primarily by a sketch of stylized wingless birds, the game was first released for Apple's iOS in December 2009.
