Oblation Run (University of the Philippines)

Nude members of a university fraternity (C) run through a crowd of fellow students during the traditional 'Oblation Run' at the University of the Philipppines campus in suburban Manila on December 15, 2010. The nude run is used each year to draw attention to the major issues of the day in the Philippines.

Since its inception in 1977, the Oblation Run has sought to bring to the awareness not only to students but also to the general public the burning issues of the day.

The Oblation (Pahinungod) is a concrete statue by Filipino artist Guillermo E. Tolentino which serves as the iconic symbol of the University of the Philippines. It depicts a man facing upward with arms outstretched, symbolizing selfless offering of oneself to his country.

Design the UAE’s logo

At 39 years of age, the UAE has decided to adopt a brand. Next month you could leave your permanent mark on the nation by taking part in a design contest that will pick one logo to represent the emirates worldwide. UAE nationals and residents are invited to submit a design and, with the backing of the government and their marketing team, the winning logo could become one of the most recognised emblems in the world. Think Canada’s maple leaf, Ireland’s clover or even the ‘I♥NY’ emblem, all of which are instantly identifiable.

Read the entry criteria and submit your logo at www.uaepm.ae/nationbrand/en/NationBrandContest.aspx. The closing date is December 30.

Now You Can Shop JCPenny From Facebook

In what is sure to be the start of a very big trend, JCPenny is announcing their new Facebook application that allows Facebook users to browse and purchase items directly from JC Penny’s Facebook page. Users will be able to browse and search JC Penny’s catalog, as well as “like” products and purchases. I’m not sure I see the point of “liking” your purchase of a new pair of boots, but then again I also don’t use Facebook.

The Year's Most Creative Advertising Ideas

From Procter & Gamble's new spin on men's body wash and deodorant to a pop-up store that serves Pop-Tarts sushi, here are the most creative advertising ideas of 2010.

Sometimes, all you need is a little creativity to turn something old and familiar into a fresh new hit.

That's exactly what did it for Old Spice. To revive a 72-year-old brand, Procter & Gamble ( PG - news - people ) tapped Isaiah Mustafa, the handsome former NFL wide receiver, to star in a campaign to appeal to women. Old Spice presented the chisel-chested Mustafa in ads as "The Man Your Man Could Smell Like," and the campaign went viral. P&G reaped 1.2 billion earned media impressions from the campaign, and Old Spice soared to the No. 1 spot in the U.S. male body wash and deodorant category. The insight that made it possible? Women, not men, do most male grooming purchasing.

Flying Machine Launches New Campaign

The campaign is conceptualized by Lowe Lintas. The agency has created 3 TVCs and print ad with the objective to make the brand more hip and relevant to today’s youth and resonate stronger with their outlook and attitudes.
Flying Machine belonged on the everyday-shelf of the youngster. What he slips into when he didn’t have to try too hard to dress-to-impress. When attractiveness lies in being himself – whatever that was, with all the quirks and imperfections. It’s a perfect choice for when “who you are” is more important than what you’re wearing.
