BNP Paribas Extends Davis Cup, Fed Cup Sponsorship For Five Years

The International Tennis Federation announced today that BNP Paribas has agreed to continue its sponsorship of Davis Cup by BNP Paribas and Fed Cup by BNP Paribas for an additional five-year period, commencing in 2012 through 2016. The agreement also includes sponsorship of Junior Davis Cup by BNP Paribas, Junior Fed Cup by BNP Paribas, ITF wheelchair tennis activities, and the biennial Worldwide Coaches Conference and regional coaches workshops

Inventor: Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) had three patents on inventions of his own.

Mark Twain (Samuel L. Clemens) received his first patent (#121,992) for the "Improvement in Adjustable and Detachable Straps for Garments" on December 19, 1871. The strap was used to tighten shirts at the waist, and was supposed to take the place of suspenders.

Twain patented his self-pasting scrapbook in 1873 and contrary to a popular myth, it was a success. The folding advertising leaflet at bottom is American; the pink leaflet is English, and the catalogue at left dates from 1901 and lists the dozens of formats and bindings available.

Additional Trivia: Why Did Samuel Clemens Use the Pen Name of Mark Twain?
Mark twain is a term used in steam boat piloting. It means the water is 13 Mark Twain's dream job was to be a pilot of a steam boat so he used the term as his pen name.
He got famous after he used it so he kept on using the name Mark Twain.

PlayBook tablet from RIM

Research In Motion unveiled a tablet computer aimed at its core business customers, as it tries to gain a foothold in a fast-growing market dominated by Apple's consumer-friendly iPad. The BlackBerry PlayBook has a seven-inch (18 cm) touchscreen, dual high-definition cameras and boasts support from corporate IT departments. It has WiFi and Bluetooth but needs to link with a BlackBerry smartphone to access a cellular network.
The PlayBook weighs 400 grams (14 ounces). It will launch with a dual-core, one gigahertz processor running a QNX operating system. RIM acquired QNX less than a year ago.

Tata Steel logo will sport on Corus

Tata Steel has decided to emboss its name and logo on all the transactions of its European subsidiary Corus. Tata Steel will be on all the Corus' transactional documents, product deliveries, locations and vehicles. Corus joined the Tata Steel family in April 2007. 

Tata Steel Europe is Europe's second largest steel producer. The Tata Group has an aggregate crude steel capacity of more than 28 million tonnes and employs 80,000 across four continents.

Timberland starts its operation in India


Timberland has set out on an all new expedition by partnering with Reliance Brands through a license cum distribution agreement to set foot in India. The brand opened its first Timberland store at Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. The exclusive store features a product line that spans across footwear, apparel and accessories for men, women and children. Timberland also plans to quickly trek to all major cities across India, in the near future.
