Kareena Kapoor is the New brand ambassador of Sony Ericsson

Actress Kareena Kapoor seems to be on an endorsement spree these days. After bagging the Sony Vaio endorsement, Kapoor has now been signed on as the brand ambassador of Sony Ericsson mobile phones.

She has endorsed a range of products like Vivel of ITC soaps, Globus, Anne French, Emami, ICI Paints, Head & Shoulders, Boro Plus , Citizen Watches and Airtel among others.

The ad film for Sony Ericsson was shot at Mehboob Studios and has been directed by director Anuj Alia and produced by Arpan Fernandes of Cut 2 Cut Films. Cut 2 Cut Films is a new production house and this is their maiden production. Saatchi & Saatchi is the creative agency for the Sony Ericsson account.

Mongoose Cricket Bat

Hey folks, now there will be a mass destruction weapon in the hands of Batsman, hopefully it can be seen in IPL 3. The Mongoose cricket bat specifically designed by Mr Marcus Codrington Fernandez to meet the new distilled demands of Twenty20, was unveiled first at Lord’s.

The Mongoose bat with a handle as long as the blade, MCC has given its approval to this bat’s design as well as ICC. It will be a nightmare for bowlers & fielders too,  means even if the balls hit on the tip of the bat too it can easily cross the ropes. The first person to use this bat was former Australian batsman Stuart Law during a county Twenty20 match.


Chennai Super Kings' Matthew Hayden is signed as a Brand Ambassador for it.

The state of Paranoia

After hearing above line from someone I would have straightway tracked my mind towards “Only the Paranoid Survive“and the toward “Andrew S. Grove”, but recently someone connected this to an urdu ghazal……..
This person is a Kind-of-expert in urdu language, esp. Awadhi (the sweetest form of hindi, as we nawabi people says)
He quoted me a very interesting classic ghazal from some Siraj Aurangabadi…
Khabar-e-tahayyur-e-ishq sunn, na junoon raha na pari rahi
Na toh tu raha na mein raha, jo rahi toh bas ye be-khabari rahi
Crux of this is: The only thing which is left now is the state of self-unconsciousness: where neither you exist nor I.
On further discussion he explained me that the state of “be-khabari ” or “Self-consciousness” is also a state of paranoia. This term paranoia was derived from the Greek term Paranous, which roughly meant "beyond the mind" (para = outside; nous = mind).

Tata Crucible Lucknow 2010 - Campus Quiz

News from Lucknow chapter of 2010 is that a record 450 + teams have participated in the campus edition of Crucibles.I think that is a record number.Perhaps Lucknow is the only instance of a venue where twice two prelims have been conducted for a quiz.

-Channels such as Colors and HBO have lined up a slew of cricket-related shows. Colors has announced four ‘cricketainment’ shows under the tag, IPL Tadka Maar Ke. HBO has announced Hollywood Premiere League, a take-off on IPL — all to capitalise on the cricketing fever.

- Indian Premier League 3 has DLF, Vodafone, Fly Kingfisher, Hero Honda, Maxx Mobiles, Karbonn Mobiles and Citibank as its primary sponsors.

- IPL and its licensing partner Global Cricket Ventures (GCV) have struck an agreement with vRock Mobile Communications for worldwide SMS, MMS and IVR rights for a period of five years. vRock Mobile Communications (VRMPL) is a private limited firm based in Gurgaon founded by Ramesh Awtaney, Vivek Gupta and Jatin Ahluwalia.

- ITV, the oldest television network of United Kingdom, got the exclusive broadcasting rights for DLF-IPL III.

- Linc Pens has inked a sponsorship deal with the Rajasthan Royals.

-Leading brands from United Spirits — Whyte & Mackay, McDowell's No1, in addition to Royal Challenge, — continue to be the key sponsors for the Royal Challengers team. In addition, Reebok is the team apparel sponsor on field and Indigo Nation is the formal attire sponsor.

- Karbonn Mobile has signed a 2 years deal as IPL’s ‘Official Partner Mobile Phone’ and the title sponsor of the new property Karbonn Mobiles IPL Nights , which will be aired on MTV.
Karbonn Mobiles is a JV between Delhi-based Jaina Group and Bangalore-based UTL Group. The company has roped in Virendra Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Manish Pandey and Virat Kohli as brand ambassadors.

- Mountain Dew will be the Kings XI Punjab's official beverage partner, they also rolled out a new campaign called as “Dar ki Wicket Girayega to Hamare Saath Khelega.”

- Idea Cellular which is associated with Deccan Chargers and the Delhi Daredevils launched a TVC for its new “ungli cricket” which is a game where users will play cricket using SMS.

- Lionel Richie, American singer will be a part of the DLF-IPL Season III opening gala dinner on March 11 at the Tote On the Turf, Mahalaxi Race Course on Thursday and the opening ceremony on March 12 at the D.Y. Patil ground.

- Royal Challenger’s has joined YouTube as a premium sponsor for DLF IPL 2010 matches that will be streamed live on the site. Other top brands taking the sponsorship slots include Airtel and Coca-Cola. While HP, HSBC India and Samsung are among the other companies to have done a deal with YouTube.

-Apalya Technologies, owners of the “MiMobiTV” service, is the exclusive live video streaming provider for all Indian Premier League (IPL) matches for the next three years, including the forthcoming 2010 IPL season. The rights granted cover live video streaming for all mobile platforms worldwide for the IPL on an exclusive basis.

-UFO Moviez will show DLF IPL 2010 matches live on gigantic screens in cinemas across India. The matches will be screened in High Definition Digital format without commercial interruptions.
