A sensor that can detect date-rape drugs in drinks with an accuracy of 100 per cent has been developed by scientists. The device works in real-time so instantly alerts the user as to whether their drink has been spiked or not.
Professor Fernando Patolsky and Dr. Michael Ioffe, School of Chemistry at the University, explained that the sensor could indicate in real time if someone had put in a cocktail of GHB (gamma-hydro-butyric acid) or ketamine.
