A virtual wife for the eligible bachelors!


Indian bachelors keen to get a taste of married life can now log on and apply for a virtual wife online in a scheme that offers a glimpse into changing Indian society.
Bharat Matrimony's biwihotohaisi.com (an ideal wife) website allows men to choose from four different types of wife and then receive automated telephone messages from them that reflect their character.
The first candidate is the devoted Ritu Gharwali (Ritu Homemaker), 23, whose saccharine entreaties to "please eat your lunch, I have made your favourite dish" would make her the ideal Indian housewife in conservative circles.
Matrimonial advertisements in Indian newspapers and websites, still widely used to find prospective partners, often feature men seeking "simple, homely girls with good family values."
There's a more feisty version of Ritu for those wanting a more challenging partner in the form of 25-year-old Bijli Thakur (Electricity Thakur) who is described as "Dominating. Bossy. Control-freak."

Qantas has appointed Mark Webber as the new Qantas Ambassador as part of its support of the 2011 Formula 1 Qantas Australian Grand Prix..




“Mark Webber is an Australian sporting champion and we look forward to working with and supporting Mark, not only in Australia, but throughout his Grand Prix season globally,” said Qantas Chief Executive Officer, Alan Joyce.

Google Employee Redirects Hiybbprqag.com To Google Jobs Page


In what is perhaps the most brilliant move in the whole Bing copies Google search results fiasco, it looks like Google Taiwan employee Chih-Chung Chang has redirected http://www.hiybbprqag.com, a URL inspired by the nonsense terms Google used to bait Bing, straight to the Google Jobs page. Search Engine Land points out that that Chang registered the domain on February 1st, the day the story first broke, using the Google Taiwan office address.

"Hiybbprqag?" How Google Tripped Up Microsoft


Hiybbprqag. It sounds like a rare cuisine or a complex chemical. But according to Google, Hiybbprqag is the nonsense word that proves that the team behind the Microsoft Bing search engine is cheating. In a statement released this week, Google's Amit Singhal alleged that Google engineers had long been suspicious that Microsoft was copying queries from Google results pages – including "rare or unusual queries and misspelled queries."

So Google decided to run what has been termed a "Bing Sting." "We created about 100 'synthetic queries' – queries that you would never expect a user to type, such as [hiybbprqag]," Singhal wrote on the official Google blog. "As a one-time experiment, for each synthetic query we inserted as Google’s top result a unique (real) webpage which had nothing to do with the query."

Google claims to have found other instances of URLs from its search results that also found their way into Microsoft's Bing - including "search results that we would consider mistakes of our algorithms started showing up on Bing."

We couldn't shake the feeling that something was going on, and our suspicions became much stronger in late October 2010 when we noticed a significant increase in how often Google's top search result appeared at the top of Bing's ranking for a variety of queries. This statistical pattern was too striking to ignore. To test our hypothesis, we needed an experiment to determine whether Microsoft was really using Google's search results in Bing's ranking.

Playboy

Playboy magazine was founded by Hugh Marston Hefner. It was first released in the American market in December 1953.

Trivia:-
Art Paul, the designer of the playboy logo sketched the well-known bunny head, wearing a tuxedo bow tie reflects the playful character of the magazine, which has been used since the second issue. Ever since the playboy logo was printed on the magazine issue, it is still in use in its original form. The rabbit was chosen because of its “humorous sexual connotation” and also because the representation was “frisky and playful”.

Nestle

In 1868, Henri Nestlé set up a sales office in London. In 1901, Nestlé opened its first UK factory, and in 1905 merged with the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company. In 1913 chocolate production began at Hayes, including the launch of the famous brand of white chocolate Milky Bar in 1937.



Trivia:-
The Nestlé logo was launched by Henri Nestlé in 1868 on the basis of the meaning of his name in German, i.e. little nest, and of his family emblem. Henri obtained a 15-year French patent for his logo in 1868. After he retired, it was registered in Vevey in 1875 by the new owners of his company. In 1988, the worm in the mother bird's beak was removed and the fledglings became two instead of three. It is said that it was meant to better illustrate the activities of the company, no longer active only in nutrition, and to reflect the average modern family of two children.

NBC Universal's new logo dumps peacock

It’s just text. And, most strikingly: There’s no peacock.
Here’s the new company logo:
The company will continue to use the peacock when promoting the NBC broadcast network and its cable news outlets. The peacock has been part of NBC’s branding since 1956.

Barcelona are just another football club – Qatar Foundation replaces UNICEF


Barcelona sponsor UNICEF will be pushed from the front of the Spanish league club's shirt from July to make way for new sponsor Qatar Foundation.
Vice president Javier Faus says a bid to incorporate the two logos failed so Qatar Foundation will run across the front and UNICEF will be underneath the player's name on the back.
Barcelona used to be one of the few clubs not to feature advertising on its jersey. Since 2006, the Spanish league club donated €1.5 million ($2 million) to UNICEF to don its logo.
Qatar — World Cup host in 2022 — is paying Barcelona €30 million ($40 million) per season. The deal could potentially reach €170 million ($225 million) over five years.
