Have you ever heard of this story that “The man who inspired Gowarikar to make Swades” was Mr. Vikram Akula, well this was recently asked in an online quiz.
As a quizzer I Have been listening to this story for a long time and infact during my SKS’ interview (dec, 06)I quoted this fact to Lokesh, anyway he happily accepted the good word about his then boss and then replied, “it’s a fake story “. Later on during my interaction with Vikram during my SKS days, Vikram himself declined to be the “man who inspired Gowarikar to make Swades” (July, 07).
However the Aaj-Tak-Kind-of-Media, is still making him as the “man who inspired Gowarikar to make Swades”
