1. This company was founded in 1890 as A.G. Thompson Pty Ltd by Alfred Grace Thompson, who was involved into harness and saddle making. He turned to manufacturing sports equipments when his livelihood was threatened by the advent of the motor car.
2. It is the only Italian athletic footwear and apparel manufacturers to still make products in Italy, a tradition that began in 1948 when the company's founder, Marcello Danieli, first began working in the trade as a young boy.
3. They were one of the dominant (wooden) racquet manufacturers in the world of their time. Over the years they produced such a wide variety of sports equipment from tennis racquets to clothing from golf equipment to rifles.

1. He was making a film on sport for ‘sport week’ and went to interview Dilip Vengsarkar; when he asked him about Sachin, following reply came from him “ He (Sachin) will play for India. 1. The modern form of this event is a military-oriented being in 1912, but has nothing in common with the ancient form. The modern form is an “all-around” contest consisting grueling combination of four running events and six field events, which take place over two days.
2. In the Atlanta Olympics of 1996 he became the first person ever to win both the 200 meter race and the 400. He himself proudly proclaimed he had “made history,” and his unique double Olympic victory was celebrated as one of the greatest athletic accomplishments of all time (Runners World, November 1996).
3. This event is represented in Greece from the Mycenaean period and the Greek dark ages, long before the Olympic Games began. The rules of Greek “ event” were quite odd and had no rounds.
