Sharp licenses Pioneer brand for high-end LCD TVs.

With Pioneer no longer making TVs, Sharp has secured a license to use Pioneer's Elite brand name on its own forthcoming high-end LCD TVs sold in the U.S. and Canada. In addition, as part of Sharp's agreement with Pioneer, the Elite-branded LCD sets will also be marketed through Pioneer's Elite brand dealers. Currently, Pioneer uses the Elite brand to market a line of high-end audio/video receivers, Blu-ray Disc players and speakers.
